Legacy and Gift in Will income is becoming a really important and growing income stream for Claire House. Currently 1 in 5 of the children we support is funded by supporters leaving us a gift in their will. By volunteering, you’ll be providing valuable support to a small team and help to raise vital funds to support the Hospice.

We’re looking for help to maximise these income opportunities. Volunteers will assist with the below tasks:

  • Helping to review Estate Accounts
  • Helping to navigate sometimes complex estate administration processes so a positive outcome is achieved for Claire House
  • Providing support to the Legacy Team

Due to the nature of the role, volunteers will need:

  • To be a qualified Chartered Legal Executive
  • Have experience of Wills and Probate law
  • Be a member of the Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists (ACTAPS) – desirable
  • Good communication skills
  • A friendly, enthusiastic and approachable nature
  • Effective time management

Please note this role does not replace the need for Claire House to seek external legal advice, it is purely to support the internal admin team on when might be best to do so.

Location: Claire House Fundraising Building, Clatterbridge Road, Bebington, Wirral, CH63 4JD – remote volunteering is possible

Time: 1-2 hours per month required
