Dr Eileen Baildam

Eileen joined the Claire House board in April 2015. She has a rich background in medicine, and also a dedication and enthusiasm for charity work which she has continued to bring into Claire House.

Eileen was born and raised in East Africa and after training and working as a GP she went on in 1993 to become a consultant at Manchester Children’s Hospital before, in 2006, taking up her current role as a Consultant Paediatric Rheumatologist at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.

Eileen’s charity work beyond Claire House has seen her re-establish links with her country of birth to help provide free much-needed medical clinics for the Maasai in East Africa.

Somehow on top of her busy work and charity commitments, Eileen also manages to raise a family and find time for her twin passions of music and reading.
