Progress to Excellence broke their fundraising record this year raising £16,000 for Claire House.
A total of £16,000 has been raised for Claire House during a year of fundraising that’s inspired the 100-strong workforce to devise innovative ways to support the charity.
Chief executive Damian Burdin said: “This has been by far our greatest single initiative to help a local charity.
“Staff themselves chose Claire House as our charity of the year after hearing of the amazing work there. A visit to the hospice, meeting staff, volunteers and young people, only added to their enthusiasm to get behind this massive fundraising challenge.
“Progress to Excellence has a culture of giving back to the local community and this result is testament to the time, energy and dedication from everyone.”
A sum of almost £12,000 was raised from the annual Progress to Excellence Training and Education Awards in the summer and £1,400 was proceeds of takings from No.4 Pacific Road, the Progress to Excellence bistro which provided refreshments at the recent Fabulous Frost Fair at Pacific Road Business Hub.
David Pastor, chief executive at Claire House, added: “We simply couldn’t provide the first class care our families receive without the support of businesses like Progress to Excellence whose staff go above and beyond to raise money and awareness of the hospice.
“We are so grateful for their enthusiasm and commitment in raising money to support the seriously and terminally ill children we help and I would encourage other businesses to follow their lead.”
