Cheshire Freemasons splash out on bath time fun at Claire House

Bath time will be fun and calming for young people at Claire House Children’s Hospice, complete with state of the art mood lighting and music, as part of a 300th birthday present from the Cheshire Freemasons.

Claire House , have received £30,000 from a £500,000 fund that the Freemasons are donating to charities across Cheshire to celebrate the 300th year of Freemasonry.

The bathroom make-over wilhas replaced outdated specialised equipment with a state of the art system and shower room. It has also covered the cost of renewing tiling and flooring, replacing windows, and installing new mood lighting and music all combined to make bath time an enjoyable and relaxing experience for the seriously and terminally ill children that Claire House care for.

Clare Doig, Clinical Team Leader at Claire House Children’s Hospice, said: “Having a new multifunctional adapted bathroom, will not only provide a functional need but it will help to relax the children, helping the quality of the child’s day or sleep at night.”

Claire House Children’s Hospice helps seriously and terminally ill children live life to the full by creating wonderful experiences and bringing back a sense of normality to family life. By providing specialist nursing care and emotional support, Claire House helps families smile again when life couldn’t get any tougher.

The Provincial Grand Master of Cheshire Freemasons, Stephen Blank, a family man and grandfather from Altrincham, said: “This gift comes from funds provided by more than 5,000 Freemasons from across Cheshire. They are ordinary family men who regularly donate out of their own pockets to worthy charitable causes such as Claire House Children’s Hospice, which does tremendous work in the community and stands as a beacon of help and support for local people when most in need.
