Want to make a difference? Looking for a flexible way to give something back? Become a Teatime Catering Support Volunteer and help us to provide children and families with a warm and welcoming lunchtime experience.
Don’t worry, you don’t need to be Jamie Oliver! Just someone who is comfortable being in a kitchen environment and has a passion for making a difference.
Please note you won’t be doing any cooking or food preparation, simply heating and plating up pre-prepared meals for children and families. So, it’s perfect if you’re simply looking to lend a helping hand!
Shifts are flexible (available Monday-Sunday 3-6pm) and can be offered on a weekly, fortnightly or even monthly basis. So, even if you just have a few hours to spare, they’ll be put to great use!
Tasks will include:
- Receiving deliveries
- Heating pre-prepared children’s pureed diet
- Plating up pre-prepared meals
- Laying the dinner table
- Preparing jugs of juice and glasses
- Keeping surfaces clean in the main kitchen
- Cleaning the dinner tables and stacking the dishwasher
- Checking the contents of the fridge and rotating stock/disposing of an out of date food
- Generally tidying the kitchen area and re-stocking refreshments (e.g. tea, coffee, sugar)
We’re looking for friendly and confident team players who are happy to get stuck in and offer a helping hand when needed. You should be comfortable using your own initiative and be happy to work independently.
Shifts are available Monday-Sunday, 3-6pm. Based at Claire House Children’s Hospice, Clatterbridge Road, Bebington, Wirral, CH63 4JD.
We provide training and ongoing support for all volunteers, including travel expenses, development opportunities and comprehensive training.
