We are searching for extra special Child/LD/ Adult Nurses, who have experience, passion and pride when caring for babies, children and young people. We recognise that working in a children’s hospice is very different to that of the NHS and sometimes applicants are not sure if the role will suit their experience. This time consists of; having a tour of the hospice, mixing with some hospice staff to find out more about the roles and having time to ask questions in a more relaxed environment. Short listed candidates will be invited for a short interview, for which, each candidate will have time to consider the questions and reflect on their experiences to support their answers.

Hospice Clinical Nurse: NHS Band 5 £27,055 – £32,934 Salary dependant on experience

This role has responsibilities similar to NHS Band 5 Nurse, providing direct care to babies, children and young people plus, overseeing and supporting HCSWs, APs and Student Nurses. Preceptorships and training will be tailored to the individual. RSCN/RN Child /LD with experience of working with children and young people, ideally those with complex health needs or with experience of palliative care is desirable. The ability to demonstrate compassion and work well in a small team is essential.

The Hospice Clinical Nurse (Band 5) role provides direct nursing care for children and young people who require specialist care for additional complex medical needs and palliative care.

We are looking for nurses who will provide a high level of specialist palliative care, encompassing a supportive and holistic approach to the child/young person with a life limiting condition and their family in the Hospice setting. The post holder will uphold the best interests of the child/ young person and their family, and will maximise the use of the multi-skilled team to plan, deliver, evaluate, and maintain safe, compassionate, and effective care.

This post works flexibly including rotation onto nights to cover a 24/7, 365-day service.

We recognise that working in a Children’s hospice is very different to that of the NHS and sometimes applicants are not sure if working in a hospice setting best suits their experience.
