Claire House mums get much needed manicure

Claire House mums were treated to a colourful nail makeover to celebrate the return of the Claire House Splash Dash to Sefton Park in this month.

Five mums, whose children are cared for at Claire House Children’s Hospice were treated to an afternoon of pampering, when they were sent to Harvey Nichols Beauty Bazaar, in Liverpool ONE, for a multi-coloured manicure.

The mums, who would not usually get much time to themselves being 24 hour carers to their children, were given the chance to sit back, relax and be utterly spoiled at the Champagne Nail Bar.

Whilst sipping on a glass of bubbly their nails were given a splash of colour, in true Splash Dash style.

The ladies were treated by Liverpool ONE as part of the shopping destination’s sponsorship of the Claire House Splash Dash.

Hayley Smallman, whose daughter Holly is cared for at Claire House, went along to enjoy the girly day: “Holly needs 24-hour care, so getting my nails done is a rarity. Having the support of Claire House means that whilst Holly is in respite, or on days like today I get the chance to be pampered and have some time to myself. Without events like the Splash Dash raising money to support Claire House, our lives would be very different. ” says Hayley.

Claire House which is based in Bebington, on the Wirral, provides respite and end-of-life care to seriously and terminally ill children as well as support for their families.

Mark Pearson, Claire House Events Fundraising Manager, said: “The Claire House Splash Dash is a great event that the whole family can get involved in!

“We don’t care how fit you are or how fast you cross the finish line – we just want you to have as much fun as possible, get as colourful as you can, and support your local children’s hospice.”
