Claire House Liverpool - Honey's green lane

In May, Claire House Children’s Hospice signed an exclusivity agreement with the Carmelite Order of Nuns who own a site on Honey’s Green Lane in West Derby, Liverpool.

The site has amazing potential that could help the organisation achieve its dream to reach out to every child with a serious and terminal illness in its catchment, which include those living north of the river Mersey.

It is perfectly located, close to Alder Hey (where many of the children and families who need the support of Claire House frequently visit). The year-long agreement means the organisation can investigate whether it is the right location from which to offer services in Liverpool and research fully the needs of seriously and terminally ill children in the area.

Initially, Claire House hopes to use the site as a base for some of its services, such as Hospice to Home, Counselling and Parents and Tots groups. The building will also be used to provide office space for some of the fundraising and volunteering teams working in the Liverpool area. The organisation aims to start using the building for these purposes in around a year’s time but the dates could shift.
