Sefton Park run - Claire House

A wave of pink covered Sefton Park last weekend when over 100 supporters of Claire House Children’s Hospice put their best foot forward in a women’s only running race.

The Women’s Running Sefton Park 10K and 5K race, which took place in Liverpool, made Claire House the official charity partner for 2016.

The race encouraged mums, daughters, sisters and aunties to run together whilst raising sponsorship for a worthy cause.

As well as taking part in the race, runners also had the chance to take part in a pre-race warm up led by an expert from Women’s Running magazine, with pacers on hand to help them achieve their target time.

Claire House relies on the fundraising of runners in the community to help provide first-class care to over 250 families from Wirral, Liverpool, Cheshire, North Wales, West Lancashire and the Isle of Man.

Events Fundraiser Beccy Davies said; “The money raised by these inspirational women will help support the work of the hospice, giving Claire House mums the peace of mind to know that whilst they take a break, their seriously ill child will be looked after by specialist nurses and care staff.”
