With a heavy heart, Claire House has decided that the 2019 Splash Dash, taking place in Sefton Park on Saturday 21 September, will be the last ever event.
It is an expensive event for a small charity to organise and as costs increase every year, we have decided to have one last big Splash Dash and celebrate how amazing it has been.
Over the last seven years, there has been eight Splash Dash events, with over 10,000 people taking part – raising over £300,000 for their local children’s hospice.
Claire House first decided to organise the event to highlight exactly what the hospice is all about – fun, laughter and living life to the full. But as the charity pursues it’s dream to be there for every local child that needs us, we feel that it is time to organise new events to raise the vital money that we need.
It really is a great family event, as there’s no minimum or maximum age, the route is perfect for wheelchairs, scooters and trikes and the event is not timed – so you can run, walk or dance your way round. Be warned though – you will get messy!
Thank you to every single Splash Dasher who has been covered in colour over the years! Thank you to the Claire House families who manage the Paint Stations! Thank you to every single volunteer who has helped! Thank you to everyone who has drummed and worked at the event! You are all amazing!
